The Government has submitted for gazzetting and publication, the report and white paper of the Emile Short commission on Ayawaso West Wuogon violence on January 31, 2019.
According to Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah government’s decision to publish the report is in accordance with Article 280 Clause 3 of the 1992 Constitution.
Addressing a news conference in Accra, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah stated “After a careful study, Government has issued a white paper together with the report itself to be published in accordance with the Constitution.”
The Commission of Inquiry was established on February 8th,2019 by President Akufo-Addo to make a full, faithful and impartial enquiry into the circumstances and establish the facts which led to the events and associated violence during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election held on the 31st January,2019 in Accra.
The Commission of Inquiry on March 14th 2019 submitted its report to the President.
