The government has condemned the shooting incident at the Ashanti regional office of the NDC that left one person dead.
A statement signed by the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, said: “the government expresses condolences to the bereaved family, wishes the injured a speedy recovery and urges the Police to speed up investigations to bring the perpetrators to book.”

“Government reiterates that violence should be eschewed from all spheres of our national life. Citizens and Groups are further encouraged to desist from actions that create a state of insecurity in our nation,” the statement added.
Police in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi, are investigating the disturbances.
An earlier statement from the police said their initial investigations reveal four persons who are members of NDC vigilante group, ‘The Hawks’ are behind the attack.
The four are Husein Barnabas, also known as Warrior, Mijima, Damos, and Abu Taliban.

An eyewitness told Joy News there was an altercation between a member of the Hawks and another NDC group member.
The Hawks member shot the NDC man thrice: first in the leg and while he tried to escape he shot him twice in the chest at close range.
Another victim of the shooting is reported to be in critical condition at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
