The low voltage electricity supply issues affecting communities along the Eastern Corridor, including Bimbila, Yendi, and the Oti Region, are expected to be resolved.
President John Dramani Mahama, who announced plans to address the challenge, says the government intends to build an additional bulk supply point on the Eastern Corridor to boost production and supply.
The President stated that the Minister of Energy and Green Transition has been tasked with developing plans and securing funding for the project to bring relief to residents in the affected areas.
According to chiefs and residents, the persistent low voltage supply has negatively impacted livelihoods and businesses for years.
The President’s announcement of a new power station has, therefore, brought a sense of optimism among the people.
President Mahama assured that this project, which he promised during his campaign tour, will be fulfilled.
In addition to addressing the electricity supply issues, the government also plans to complete the outstanding sections of the Eastern Corridor roads and undertake the construction of other major roads in the Northern Region, the President revealed.
