On Monday, September 16, 2024, confusion erupted after the Member of Parliament for Gomoa West Richard Gyan Mensah and some party supporters besieged the premises of the District Assembly during the launch of the DRIP equipment.

He questioned why posters of the NPP Parliamentary candidate Bismark Basie Nkum were pasted on the machines.

This led to an altercation between supporters of both parties disrupting the process.

The DCE Bismark Basie Nkum also accused the Member of Parliament for the area Richard Gyan Mensah of brandishing a pistol during the confrontation, which he (MP) denied in subsequent interviews with the media.

Party supporters of the NDC who spoke to the media after the release of the chairman said it’s a victory for the NDC.
