Gomoa Okyereko chiefs, residents angry at estate developer over cemetery destruction

-

Chiefs and residents of Gomoa Okyereko in the Gomoa East District of Central region have expressed outrage at an Estate Developer over the destruction of the community cemetery.

The irate indigenes on Monday took to the streets clad in red and black outfits, chanting war songs to express their disappointment.

Information gathered by Adom News suggests that the developer, Mustapha Plus was allocated a portion of land for real estate but decided to include the cemetery without authorisation.

In an interview with Adom News, some opinion leaders claimed that their late chief gave Mustapha 350 acres of land but he has registered over 1,700 acres of land without the knowledge of the chiefs.

The resident said all effort to ratify the problem have yielded no results and have therefore called on President Akufo-Addo and the DCE, Solomon Darko Quarm to intervene in the reclamation of their lands.

They have vowed to go to every extent to get their land back, adding they are ready to face the developer boot for boot.

Meanwhile, the regent of Gomoa Okyereko Nana Donkor who led the demonstration also called on IGP, National Security Minister, President Akufo-Addo to intervene and make sure peace prevail because they will not sit aloof for one person to take over their community.
