President-elect John Dramani Mahama has disclosed that he foresaw his resounding victory in the recently concluded general elections, attributing his triumph to divine assurance.
Speaking to congregants at the Assemblies of God Church in Osu on Sunday, December 15, 2024, Mahama revealed that God had spoken to him even before the elections began, assuring him of success.
“God assured me in my heart that I would win this election. He spoke to me, and I believed it deeply. However, I had no idea the victory would be this emphatic, massive, and historic,” Mahama said, reflecting on his remarkable comeback.
He recounted his spiritual journey leading up to the election, where he spent intimate moments with God, presenting his heartfelt prayers and supplications.
“I cried out to the Almighty, laying my burdens before Him and seeking His grace. In return, He blessed me abundantly. This victory is nothing short of divine. I thank God not only for this success but also for what it signifies for Ghana as a whole,” he shared.
To mark the occasion, a Thanksgiving service was held to celebrate Mahama’s victory, with his family and supporters joining in the festivities.
The event, held on the same day at the Assemblies of God Church, saw Mahama’s wife, Lordina, their children, siblings, friends, and well-wishers dressed in white to symbolize joy and gratitude.
During his address, Mahama expressed profound appreciation to his family and close friends for their unwavering support throughout his campaign. He also extended gratitude to the church and its pastors for their prayers and encouragement.
“I am deeply grateful to my family and friends for standing by me. I also thank the church and its leadership for their spiritual guidance and prayers during this journey,” he said.
