Former President John Dramani Mahama has been asked to renounce his Ghanaian citizenship and go to stay in the fictional Animal Farm he referred to in Cape Coast.
The order was in response to an analogy by the former President that the Nana Akufo-Addo government is administering Ghana like an Animal Farm.
Former President John Mahama waded into a conversation for the President to sack Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa for making comments to the effect that he would treat NPP faithful better.
Addressing NDC supporters in Cape Coast, the former President accused the president of not showing good leadership skills for failing to sack Ayisi-Boateng.
He added that Mr. Ayisi’s comments can be likened to that of Napoleon and the other pigs in George Orwell’s fable, ‘Animal Farm’ where the animals said ‘all animals are equal’ but in a bid to justify why they were enjoying the pigs changed the phrase to “all animals are equal but some are more equal than others”.
The former president’s comments has been criticized and he has been accused of referring to President Akufo-Addo and his appointees as pigs. Some of the critics have chastised the former head of state and asked him to crawl back into his shell.
This criticism, some sympathisers of the NDC claims is unfair as according to them the former President never referred to the former President and his appointees but was just making an analogy.
This defense, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP, Sam Pyne said is a pathetic one as according to him, the former President really referred to the appointees of President Akufo-Addo as pigs.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Wednesday, Sam Pyne said the former President could not be forgiven because he has a history of making reckless comments.
“If former President John Mahama is not a pathetic character, who else will be? How can you package such a character to be President of Ghana again…,?” he quizzed.
To Sam Pyne, the former President knew the implications of what he said and hence demanded the former President renounce his Ghanaian citizenship and go to stay in the Animal Farm he referred to since that fictional location is more appropriate for him.
“Mahama’s inference meant that all Ghanaians are pigs…Mahama should have written a very tall apology and resign as a Ghanaian and go to stay in the farm of Mr Jones’ Animal Farm which he likes very much…,” he stated further.
