The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has addressed concerns regarding reports of victims being charged for attestation letters related to the recent Kantamanto fire.

In an official statement, Divisional Officer Two (DO II) Desmond E. Ackah, the Head of Public Relations, clarified that the GNFS does not charge any fees for issuing such letters.

The GNFS condemned the unauthorized practice, which reportedly took place at the Accra City Fire Station, and assured the public that an investigation is ongoing to identify and discipline any officers involved.

The GNFS urged victims and the general public to avoid making payments for attestation letters and to report any such incidents to the GNFS Greater Accra Headquarters at Korle-Bu or the Public Relations Department at 050 960 8744.

The Service emphasized its commitment to integrity and professionalism, thanking the public for their cooperation in maintaining high standards of accountability.
