The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) says members of the association from across the regions have arrived in Accra to attend an Emergency General Meeting (EGM) at the Ghana International Press Centre on Friday, September 27, 2024.
The EGM, which starts at 11 am prompt, has the same powers as the Annual General Meeting, the highest decision-making body of the GJA.
A statement issued by GJA General Secretary, Kofi Yeboah, said the EGM is open to all members in good standing, whose decisions on Friday shall be binding on the Association.
The statement said the EGM shall consider the following business:
- Discuss the General Secretary’s Annual Report (2023);
- Discuss the audited accounts of the Association (2022–2023) to be presented by the National Treasurer, and
- Any other business
The GJA on Wednesday announced nominees who will be honoured at its 28th Media Awards, slated for Saturday, September 28, 2024.
