Minority in Parliament has accused government of breaching Article 75 clause 2 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana over its failure to submit the agreement of GITMO 2 to Parliament for ratification.
According to the group, the posture of the government is affront to the Supreme Court which had ruled that there was a need for a Parliamentary ratification of their stay or extensions to their in Ghana.

At the recent press encounter, President Akufo-Addo told Ghanaians that the agreement would be brought to Parliament for ratification.
Speaking with Adom News’ Abednego Asante Asiedu on the matter, Minority spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, said government will be embarrassed if a citizen goes back to the Supreme Court over the matter.

Okudjeto Ablakwa added that if government fails to submit the agreement to Parliament within this week, the Minority will consider options of possibly seeking redress at the Supreme Court.
But the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, says the Foreign Affairs Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey will, next week, bring the agreement before the house for ratification.
