A girl screamed in pain after allegedly being pepper-sprayed by police at a George Floyd protest in Seattle, United States.
The youngster writhed around in agony and shouted ‘I can’t see’ before milk was poured over her head.
She then screamed out as the milk, which is used to counter the effects of pepper spray, ran down her face.
Bystanders were also filmed spraying the girl with unknown substances in a bid to relieve her pain.
The tragic episode happened at a demonstration over the killing of African American George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Mr Floyd died after a policeman knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes.
America has seen six days of protests since the death of Mr Floyd on May 25.
Some of the demonstrations have turned violent, with scenes of looting and arson broadcast around the world.
However the latest shocking footage appears to show a little girl suffering the effects of pepper spray.
Instagram user Evan Michael, who shared the clip, wrote: “First person maced is a little girl.
“What the f**k is wrong with you people. #seattlepolice#georgefloyd#blacklivesmatter#endpolicebrutality “
He also claimed that the officer was being investigated after outcry over the clip.
Protesters reacted to the girl’s distress by confronting police officers and taking down their names.
Seattle’s Mayor Jenny Durkan has implemented a 5pm curfew across the city and banned weapons.
The National Guard was called in to help control the crowds after rioting over the weekend.
Yesterday, Seattle police chief Carmen Best said 27 people had been arrested for various offences, including arson, looting and assault, Mail Online reports.
