The Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) has congratulated Ningo Prampram MP, Sam Nartey George, on his appointment as Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations Minister-designate.
In a statement, GIBA said the nomination was a noteworthy milestone and a testament to his unwavering dedication, extensive expertise, and visionary leadership.
“This significant appointment is not only a testament to Mr. George’s dedication and expertise but also a remarkable stride towards advancing Ghana’s digital landscape,” the statement lauded.
GIBA also noted that this development represents a significant step forward in strengthening and advancing Ghana’s digital infrastructure and technological growth.
The statement further praised the nominee’s established track record in governance and policy-making, positioning him as a valuable asset in driving the ministry’s agenda and achieving its objectives.
GIBA acknowledged that Mr. George’s prior experience in the Communications Directorate at the Presidency and his role as a member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Communications equip him with a rare combination of legislative and executive expertise.
These dual roles, GIBA emphasized, will be instrumental in guiding his efforts and decision-making as he takes on this new and significant responsibility.
“We trust that Mr. George will advocate for the interests of the broadcasting sector and work collaboratively with independent broadcasters to promote a vibrant media landscape that upholds high standards and ethical practices.”
“His commitment to digital rights and inclusion aligns well with GIBA’s goals of maintaining the independence of the broadcasting sector and ensuring equitable access to digital technologies for all Ghanaians,” the statement added.
