GHPL: Olympics beat Allies, Berekum Chelsea held at home

The match-day six fixtures of the Ghana Premier League continued at the various stadia on Saturday after Liberty and Legon Cities recorded a win on Friday.

Great Olympics pipped Inter Allies to secure the second victory of the season at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Philip Nii Kojo Sackey’s  28th-minute goal was enough for the ‘Dade Boys’ to get all three points much to the delight of their fans who were at the stadium.

At Tarkwa, Medeama SC returned to winning ways as they pipped Ashgold 1-0 at the Akoon Park.

A Prince Opoku Agyemang’s penalty in the 66th minute settled the tie for the home side.

Eleven Wonders got themselves a 2-0 home win over Karela. Abdul Mugeese got two goals after striking home in the 51st and 72nd minutes.

At Berekum, Aduana Stars held Berekum Chelsea to a 1:1 drawn game. The home side took the lead in the 26th minute via a penalty from Stephen Amankona.

However, in the 86th minute, Pius Yeboah scored for the two times Ghana Premier League champions.

King Faisal‘s wait for their first win of the season will continue into Week 7 after they drew 1-1 with Elmina Sharks. Kwame Peprah gave Faisal the lead in the 47th minute but Alhaji Mustapha tied the score in the 70th minute.

The big match comes on tomorrow at the Accra Sports Stadium as Hearts of Oak host Asante Kotoko at 15:00GMT.
