President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has highlighted Ghana’s impressive economic recovery, pointing to key growth indicators as proof of progress.
In his final New Year Message on December 31, the President shared that the economy achieved a notable 7.2% growth rate in the third quarter of 2024, with the overall growth rate for the year projected at 6.8%.
He attributed this recovery to the resilience of the Ghanaian people and the government’s strategic efforts in navigating both global and domestic challenges.
“These achievements are not just numbers,” the President said. “They represent lives changed and brighter futures ahead. While we have faced difficulties, the road has not always been easy, and there have been moments of sacrifice.”
He acknowledged the hardships, particularly referencing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but emphasized the strength of the Ghanaian spirit.
“The post-COVID-19 years have tested us, but they’ve also shown us our true character — a people who rise together, no matter the challenges.”
As Ghanaians look ahead to 2025, the President urged them to hold on to the hope that has sustained them through tough times.
