Renowned gospel musician Ceccy Twum has expressed deep concern over the difficult living conditions many Ghanaians are currently facing, stating that the nation feels like “hell” due to the hardships brought on by systemic failures.
In an interview on Accra FM, Ceccy Twum noted that the world is in a tough place, but the situation in Ghana is especially dire.
According to her, without a functioning system to support its citizens, individuals are forced to fight for their survival or risk their families suffering.
“The world is not easy right now. It takes extra effort to make it, else your family will suffer and you will retrogress. If the system is working, the poverty and hardship can be controlled, but if you live in a country without proper system, you need to fight for yourself”.
She recounted her first visit to the UK, where she was moved to tears by how organized and disciplined their public transport system was.
“The bus system and the laws guiding them were disciplined. I wish Ghana could tap into its natural resources and develop the country instead of always relying on loans,” she added.
Ceccy Twum urged for better management of Ghana’s natural resources to drive development and progress, stressing that the current state of affairs is holding back the country.
She concluded with a plea for divine intervention, humorously stating, “God shouldn’t punish Ghanaians with hell because we are already in hell. That would be double punishment.”
