Member of Parliament for Upper West Akim constituency, Hon Derek Darko Ohene Assifo Bekoe has charged President Akufo-Addo to take action following undercover revelations by ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The expose, which was premiered at the Accra International Conference Centre on Wednesday, shed light on how match officials such as referees and match commissioners; officials of the National Sports Authority; and the Ghana Football Association were involved in various acts of bribe-taking
Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show “Dwaso Nsem”, he stressed that, the incumbent government must take serious actions against football officials who were caught in the Anas’ video.
He noted that, this GFA saga should not be sweep under the carpet like most cases in the country.

Mr Bekoe added that. since the Anas’ video has dragged the name of the President in the mud, he must ensure he clear his name by punishng the culprits.

“Corruption is something every government is trying to fight. It’s very unfortunate and I am very sad about the corrupt activities Nyantakyi has tagged the government with. It is football that has fused with politics. Let’s look at who Nyantakyi is… We want to see action. It should be one of those cases. We want to see people going to court. Ghanaians want full action…” he said.
