Ghanaians advised to learn useful lessons from Easter messages

Apostle Peter Okoe Mankarolo, the President of the Apostolic Church-Ghana, has advised Christians to learn useful lessons from the message of Easter to chart a new beginning.

He said Christians abiding by the lessons that come with Easter would bond better for the rebuilding of the economy and the nation at large.

“This year’s Easter is being observed at a time when the country is experiencing some challenges,” Apostle Okoe Mankarolo said in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra on Thursday.

He said: “I also urge all to renew hope in the future and thereby resolve to build a stronger nation. Even in the midst of challenges, once we believe in God and ourselves by committing to hard work, integrity, and unity in diversity; we can be assured that we are on the way to greatness”.

Apostle Okoe Mankarolo said the only missing link in Ghanaians resolve to succeed where others had failed was the over-politicization of issues that tended to lead them astray from the national objectives.

He, however, urged Ghanaians to desist from such behavior and use the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as a positive reward to build the nation.

Apostle Okoe Mankarolo explained that the Easter period also reminded Christians of the golden rule of love, adding that “Love your neighbour as yourself.

“Christ expressed this love by dying to give us salvation and hope. Let us seek the welfare of the needy and the vulnerable in society; and ensure equity, honesty, truth and compassion in all our endeavours”.

Apostle Okoe Mankarolo noted that through the death, Jesus washed the sins of all and renewed their lives and so the new era should provide the citizenry with the strength to overcome their shortcomings and become more useful to society.

He urged the travelling public to observe road traffic regulations so that there would be no accidents during the festive season.

Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb on the third day after crucifixion.
