The Project Coordinator of the Ghana State Book, Isaac Bright Botchwey, has urged chiefs  not to politicize and hijack the documentation of the chieftaincy succession of the various traditional areas in the country.

The initiative, he stated is to ensure the chieftaincy institution is documented to serve future generations.

Mr. Botchwey made the comment after a delegation of the Ghana State Books Project  engaged the Nifa Division of the Akuapem Traditional Area in the Eastern Region to introduce and discuss the Ghana State Book concept with the traditional leadership to solicit their support and cooperation for the exercise.

He asked everyone to assist the Ghana State Book in achieving its goal of documenting and authenticating the traditional histories of all the traditional states in Ghana.

For his part, the chief of Adukrom, who is also the Nifahene of the Akuapem Traditional Area, Osuodumgya Otutu Kono III said their way of documenting is to allow everyone to participate in creating an authentic history that will be captured in the book to avoid litigation, chieftaincy, and ethnic conflicts.
