Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has expressed the country’s commitment to strengthening ties with India, particularly in the fields of agricultural technology and infrastructure development.

During his visit to India, Mr. Ablakwa highlighted the importance of leveraging India’s expertise to drive economic growth and sustainable development in Ghana.

In a bilateral discussion with Indian Foreign Minister His Excellency Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Mr. Ablakwa stressed the shared goals of both nations in fostering stronger economic ties.

“Ghana is eager to collaborate with India in leveraging expertise in agricultural technology and infrastructure development,” he said. “Our partnership will open new opportunities for knowledge exchange and investment.”

He emphasized Ghana’s ambition to modernize its agricultural sector and improve infrastructure, areas where India’s advancements—particularly in irrigation, mechanization, and food processing—could significantly benefit Ghana.

The Foreign Minister also pointed out the potential for collaboration in infrastructure, specifically in road construction, energy, and smart city projects.

“India’s experience in these sectors is invaluable, and we look forward to deepening our cooperation to enhance Ghana’s economic transformation,” he noted.

Mr. Ablakwa’s visit, which follows an invitation from his Indian counterpart, marks a significant step towards strengthening the diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries.

He reiterated Ghana’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial partnerships and expressed confidence that enhanced cooperation with India would contribute to the nation’s long-term development goals.
