Counsel for Techiman City Football Club, George Tetteh Wayo has given reasons for his client’s decision to withdraw the injunction case against the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Speaking on Asempa FM, Lawyer Tetteh Wayo said their decision to withdraw the case is purely based on the fact that the President of the club, Charles Nti had been spoken to by certain prominent people who love football to resend his decision.
“Our decision to withdraw this case is due to calls from some prominent people who don’t want to see another court case hanging around the neck of our league which began a week ago. We went to court seeking an administrative review on the FA’s decision to demote Dreams FC to Division One while Tema Youth is promoted to the Ghana Premier League.
“But we have decided to back down on our earlier move to go to court for explanation on the matter. Techiman City and the GFA, I believe will sit and address the issues in the suit”, he added.
Counsel Tetteh Wayo said their decision to come public with their decision is because he (Wayo) and his client (Techiman City) did not want the public to have a different opinion of their decision.
Techiman City last week sought to place an interlocutory injunction of the league, but could not serve the GFA the summons as the offices of the Association were closed making it impossible for the FA to be served.
