The People’s National Congress (PNC) 2016 flagbearer has dismissed the party’s Deputy General Secretary for engaging in acts considered to be a misdemeanor.
A letter signed by Dr. Edward Mahama accused Mohammed Haruna of dragging the name of the party into disrepute by spiting the public against PNC officials.
The dismissed official was accused of reporting PNC National Treasurer, Akane Adams to the police for allegedly stealing “party money without recourse to the leadership of the party.”
The medical doctor said the act by Mr Haruna “embarrassed me as the leader, the National Executive Committee and the entire membership of the PNC.”
The embattled PNC official was also accused of alleging that Dr Mahama had used the party’s money to buy Treasury Bills.
Citing Standing Orders of the party, the PNC 2016 Presidential Candidate said no “individual executive can transfer party cash without a counter signature of either the Leader, Chairman, General Secretary or National Treasurer.”
He entreated Ghanaians and PNC members to treat the story which was carried in The New Crusading Guide Newspaper on January, 24 with contempt.
