A volunteer youth wing of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), the NPP Loyal Ladies, has expressed its commitment to support entrepreneurial and skills development activities in the country.
As part of this initiative, the group is expected to provide vocational training to the youth, especially women, in areas such as soap making, dress making, and catering.
The aim is to help provide the youth with employable skills in order to earn them sustainable income and improve their economic wellbeing.
The Vice President of the NPP Loyal Ladies, Modesta Darbo, made this known during a health walk organized by the group over the weekend.
According to Miss Darbo, the group will organize workshops, seminars and other skills development programmes across the country, especially in deprived communities.
She called on government and the private sector to support this course which, in her view, will “help bolster the overall development agenda of the country, provide employment to the teeming unemployed youth and reduce crime.’
Health Walk
The health walk saw the group, numbering over a thousand, jog from the Ayi Mensah Toll Booth arena in the Greater Accra Region to the Peduasi Lodge enclave in the Eastern Region.
The walk was led by the Deputy National Youth Organizer of the NPP, Dominic Eduah.
Popular musicians such as Praye and Kwame A Plus were also on sight to provide entertainment to participants.Â
This is the first major event for the Loyal Ladies after the 2016 general elections. Mr. Eduah said the walk is to provide health and physical fitness to members in order to prepare them for a number of events and tasks ahead.
The activity was supported by Asase Ghana Limited, Manspra Company Limited, Rush Energy Drink, Big Apple Coffee Shop and Verna Mineral Water,
