The loyalty of former Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been questioned following his claim that President Akufo-Addo’s State of the Nations Address on Tuesday adequately reflected the true state of the nation.
Mr. Enoch Teye Mensah said defending the President arguing that President the president’s address was without fault.
“It was fantastic. This is his maiden address to the nation and he touched on all the salient points,” said he said shortly after the President’s address in Parliament.
This position taken by the former legislator has incurred the wrath of some party members because it is in sharp contrast to the position taken by the Minority in Parliament.
The Minority led by Haruna Iddrisu maintained that President Akufo-Addo in his maiden State of the Nations Address was economical with the truth.
In support, the NDC’s Greater Accra Regional Organizer, Anthony Nukpenu on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday said ET Mensah is just playing the “ostrich”.
In his view, the former legislator is just bitter because he lost his re-election bid to Parliament during the party’s primaries.
“If you feel you [ET Mensah] have found some solace in the NPP, you lie, you won’t survive” he added
Anthony Nukpenu urged ET Mensah not to forget the “NDC made you who you are today in life”.
He also cautioned the NDC bigwigs who are now moles in the party to watch out because “if they dare, whatever we know about them while serving in government, we will put it out”.
Anthony Nukpenu said the “hypocrisy and dishonesty” is becoming too much in the NDC but they will weed out the moles
“If they feel they have found glory in the NPP administration so they will go contrary to party position to spite the erstwhile Mahama government, you lie; you won’t survive” the NDC Greater Accra Regional Organizer fumed.
