Ghana News – Flagstaff House properties intact; claims of ransack ‘mischievous’ – Kofi Adams

-

National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has dismissed reports that they ransacked the Flagstaff House before exiting office.

According to him, such allegations are part of the ‘political game’ being played by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Kofi Adams’s comment is in reaction to a publication by the Chronicle newspaper alleging that offices at the seat of government have been ransacked following the exit of former President John Mahama.

The report said most presidential staffers of the previous administration took away fridges, calendars, TV sets, vehicles and wall clocks that were used to furnish their offices by the state.

But in a rebuttal, Kofi Adams on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday described the report as ‘mischievous and political’.

He explained that, under no circumstance would a presidential staff take away any property belonging to the state.

The NDC National Organizer maintained that, all state properties were returned and properly documented by the staff at the presidency.

However, Kofi Adams said if the allegation by the Chronicle newspaper is anything to go by, “the staff might have bought them with their personal money”.

He believes such a “false report” is just to divert attention from the “already failing” Akufo-Addo administration.
