Ghana News – Baby thief arrested in Nkoranza

A 32-year-old woman has been arrested for stealing 3-year-old boy called Kwabena Samuel at Nkoranza in the Brong Ahafo region.

The suspect, Hawa Sulley, according to reports lured the little who was playing outside their house with biscuit and took him away.

The Nkoranza Municipal Police Commander, ASP Joseph Owusu confirmed this to Adom News Tuesday.

He noted that on Sunday 19th Feb. 2017, around 1:30 pm, father of the little boy, Yirenkyi Samuel reported that his child was missing and later did some announcement on radio stations in the area.

The woman upon hearing the announcement, ASP Owusu took the three-year-old boy to a nearby village called Dankwa and sold him.

Later the evening, the chief of Dandwa, Nana Adubo II and some of his elders arrested Hawa Sulley and handed her over to the police.

 The three-year-old, ASP Owusu noted was very weak because he had not eaten for hours and was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect, he added is in police custody and will be processed for court soon.
