A pregnant woman and her two children died on the spot when a vehicle belonging to the Audit Service run in to them Tuesday evening.
According to reports, the driver in an attempt to swerve sheep crossing the road, lost control and hit the woman and her children walking on the shoulders of the road.
Wenchi Divisional Police Commander, ACP Peter Gyimah confirmed the incident, which occurred at Yabraso near Tain district in Brong Ahafo region. to Adom News, Wednesday. He indicated that the driver of the vehicle in a statement claimed responsibility for the accident.
He explained that, he had gotten to the outskirt of the town from work when he found the sheep in the middle of the road. In an attempt to avoid killing the sheep, the driver ended up killing the woman and her children.
The driver, ACP Gyimah, said is in police custody assisting in investigations.
