Two armed robbers are in the custody of the Awutu-Breku police for allegedly robbing the biggest mobile money office at Awutu-Breku with Ak47 guns at around 3:30pm Monday.

According to Akua Saa, the lady in charge of the mobile money outlet, the robbers disguised themselves as customers wanting to withdraw money but closed the office down when the time of operation commenced.

The suspects are Johnson Wedua 45 and Mohammed Ali Salifu 37 years.

“This afternoon two guys came in, they closed the door and told me to go back and sleep on the floor. They started picking the calling cards.

“If we try to raise our heads then he forces our head back on the floor. He insisted we do otherwise else he will shoot us. They had AK47 guns…” she narrated.

“They took everything and wanted to go out. They wanted to lock the door but the key had spoilt. One of them went out to sit on the motor to keep the engine running. As they left, we went out to alert the guys around to prevent them from escaping” she added.

She said the angry youth gave the robbers a hot chase and nearly lynched them but were saved by some good Samaritans leading to their arrest.
