Members of Airtel Ghana’s senior leadership, joined His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the entire Asanteman Traditional Council and thousands of sympathisers to mourn the Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II at a burial service held at the Manyhia Palace on Thursday 19th January 2017.
The team, led by CEO, Lucy Quist included the company’s Sales and Distribution Director, Samuel Sarpong, Head of Corporate Communications, Richard Ahiagble, the business leadership team in charge of the Ashanti Region – Kwaku Asiedu and Patrick Seidu.
The team made a donation as custom demands and joined thousands of mourners to file past and pay their final respects to the beloved departed Queen Mother who was a mother, mentor and a pillar of strength for the entire Ashanti Kingdom and beyond.
Airtel Ghana’s CEO, Lucy Quist signed the book of condolence on behalf of the Board, Management and employees of the Smartphone Network.
The burial service was attended by thousands of well-wishers, including the President of the Republic and his Vice, former Presidents, dignitaries, members of the diplomatic corps and Ghanaians from all walks of life.
The 4 day ceremony which culminated in the final burial service on Thursday was awash with rich display of Ghanaian and Ashanti culture.
