Two goals from the sons of the African football maestro, Abedi Ayew Pele saw the Ghana Black Stars into the semi-final of the ongoing African Cup of Nations Semi-final in Gabon.
The youngest of his sons, Jordan Ayew opened the scores in the 63rd minute of the Quarter final game against Dr Congo.
His goal came as a form of relief to the stars which was outplayed in the first half of the game.
The celebration were however short-lived when five minutes later, Paul-Jose M’Poku of the DR Congo capitalized on the lack of concentration on the part of the team to fire home an equalizer from a long range.
The game turned into a ding dong affair until the 77th Minute when Ghana’s winger, Christian Atsu was blocked down in the penalty box of the DR Congo.
Skipper on the day, Andrew Ayew sent Congolese goalkeeper, Ley Matampi the wrong way to slot in the match winner on the 78th minute.
After the winning goal, the stars kept control of the game until the 90+4 minute when the referee his whistle for the end of the game.
The Congolese had been tipped as the favorites for the first semi-final game of the day.
The Black Stars were the winners of the day and booked a date with Indomitable Lions of Cameroon which edged out pre-tournament favourite, Senegal.
