Ghana needs new government, not NPP, NDC – Shatta Wale

-

As Ghana’s 2020 general elections inch close, musician Shatta Wale has asked Ghanaians to focus on voting for another political party rather than the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) or its main opponent, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The musician, who has been championing the dancehall genre in Ghana said it’s about time politicians who value citizens are voted into power to do the will of the people.

According to Shatta, politicians in Ghana have told lies in their manifestos thereby failing to fulfil the promises they make prior to winning power.

Shatta Wale said he had charged the President when he met him, to make him am ambassador to empower the youth but all to no avail.

The dancehall act whose songs were used by both the NPP and the NDC during the 2016 elections has, therefore asked Ghanaians to vote for a different party to ease the hardships of the citizenry.

When they campaign during political rallies, they speak well to convince the people. They should do the same when they go on TV for the local people to understand. Where the country is heading, people are getting fed up of NDC and NPP, he said.

I am not a Jehovah witness but I don’t see it necessary to vote someone who won’t come to power to do anything for me. I believe in voting for someone who would do something for mother Ghana, Shatta added.
