Owner of New Edubiase United Football Club, Abdul Salam Yakubu, has taken a swipe at Ghana football describing it as non-existent.
The outspoken football administrator believes after the ‘Number 12’ expose’ by investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, the game under Ghana Football Association Normalisation Committee has been worse.
Speaking on Asempa FM, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said the game that was cherished so much by many, has now been degraded to the extent that it is now being run from the coffers of the government.
According to him, football administrators have now relaxed waiting patiently for the Normalisation Committee to hand over the game to them.
“Ghana football is no more; seriously, it doesn’t exist. When was the last time referees decided to boycott matches and when was the last time our football was ran from the coffers of the government? Now we collect money from the government to run a competition,” he noted.
“Football people have just kept mute; we have decided not to talk; 31st is just around the corner, by all means elections will come on and football people must takeover.
“If they [Normalisation Committee] are able to give us a road map, anybody who will be elected to lead Ghana football will get our support,” he added.
The mandate of the Normalisation Committee was extended by FIFA and its tenure would come to an end on September 30, 2019.
