Ghana football has retrogressed under Kurt Okraku – Countryman Songo [Video]

-

Sports journalist, Patrick Osei Agyemang has strongly criticized the Ghana Football Association (GFA), led by Kurt Okraku, for its perceived inability to improve the standard of football in the country.

This criticism comes in response to Okraku’s recent claims of significant progress in Ghanaian football during a media briefing in Sunyani.

Songo, however, disputes these claims, citing the Black Stars’ consecutive exits from the 2021 and 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments as evidence of the sport’s stagnation.

The fire-brand sports broadcaster also highlighted the failure of the Black Queens and the Black Meteors to qualify for the Olympic Games in France as further proof that Ghanaian football has not advanced.

Songo also accused Okraku’s administration of not securing a major sponsor or TV broadcaster for the Ghana Premier League and criticized the GFA for neglecting the development of football standards and improving the quality of officiating in the league.
