Vice President of the Ghana League Clubs Association, (GHALCA), the welfare body of premier league clubs in Ghana, Mr Aleex Akummey, has debunked reports in the media that his outfit has petitioned the World Football governing body, FIFA.
Speaking on the Ultimate spots show on Asempa FM, the football administrator explained that the leadership and members of GHALCA will instead meet the two-man liaison body instituted by FIFA to take charge of Football activities in the interim.
“We met for the fourth time as a body since the Anas expose` last week and we formed a five-member committee to draft a petition to be sent to FIFA later, unlike the communication in the media already”.
“We further agreed that the clubs will go through the draft and if accepted, that is when we will send it to FIFA but we were on Friday contacted by the Liaison team requesting for a meeting today. The clubs have agreed so we will meet them and see the way forward”, he said.
Mr Akummey further revealed the five-man committee still stands and will continue with the drafting of the petition irrespective of the meeting today with Dr Kofi Amoah and Coach Oti Akenteng.
