The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has initiated the process of appointing a new head coach for the Black Queens, according to Communications Director Henry Asante Twum.
The senior women’s national team has been without a head coach following the departure of Nora Häuptle.
The Swiss tactician opted not to renew her two-year contract with the GFA and has since been confirmed as the head coach of Zambia’s Copper Queens.
In an interview with Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Asante Twum revealed that the GFA is working to ensure a swift appointment.
“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has already started the process to appoint a new head coach for the Black Queens after Nora Hauptle’s departure,” he said.
“We are looking to appoint a competent coach to build on what Nora Hauptle started because we will be participating in the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and so we need to fast-track the appointment so the coach will have a fair idea of the team,” he added.
