The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association met with the Head Coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
This meeting took place during the last periodic joint session of the Executive Council and the Regional Football Association Chairmen.
In an open, candid, and constructive engagement, the Head Coach presented a comprehensive 56-page Technical Report.
The Technical Report was thoroughly examined by the Executive Council and the Regional Chairmen of the Football Association, with the Head Coach providing additional responses.
Coach Otto Addo took full responsibility for the team’s poor performance and acknowledged several shortcomings. He then outlined key areas that require enhancement going forward.
He emphasized his intention to build a strong and cohesive system that fosters discipline, accountability, and trust among the players and the backroom staff while also establishing a clear and recognizable playing philosophy.
The Executive Council and the Regional Football Chairmen expressed the nation’s disappointment with the Head Coach and emphasized the desire of all Ghanaians for the nation to qualify for the World Cup.
Therefore, there was a strong call for better performance and results in the upcoming games, particularly the World Cup qualifying matches.
The Head Coach was informed that the Association would hold further consultations with members and key stakeholders in the football ecosystem to develop a comprehensive plan for the national team.
The GFA remains committed to making holistic decisions, in consultation with key stakeholders, for the good and growth of Ghanaian football.
This process will focus strongly on the senior national football team, the Black Stars, and will be driven by collective will and a single-minded focus to restore the glory of the Black Stars.
