Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has expressed his support for the Black Stars’ technical team despite recent fan criticism.
Okraku’s comments come after the team’s underwhelming performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The Black Stars experienced a surprising 1-0 defeat to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium and followed it up with a 1-1 draw against Niger.
In light of these results, Okraku reaffirmed his confidence in head coach Otto Addo and his staff.
“So far, we have started well, we have given them our utmost support and we will support them all the way,” Okraku stated on the sidelines of a CAF seminar.
With just one point from their first two matches, Ghana currently sits in 3rd place in their qualifying group.
The Black Stars will be looking for their first victory when they take on Sudan in the upcoming doubleheader.
They will host Sudan on October 7 at a yet-to-be-announced venue, and then travel to the Al-Merrikh Stadium for the return leg on October 15.
