A member of the Justice Dzamefe Commission of Enquiry, Moses Foh Amoaning, has called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to present a clear plan for restoring the pride of the Black Stars following their disappointing performances in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Under head coach Otto Addo, the Black Stars ended the qualification campaign at the bottom of Group F, earning only three points from six matches and failing to secure a single victory.
While the GFA Executive Council met on Wednesday to discuss the future of Otto Addo, no conclusion was reached.
A statement indicated that a decision will be made by November 27, ahead of a retreat with stakeholders on November 28.
In an interview with Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Foh Amoaning emphasized that the GFA should present a detailed plan for the Black Stars’ recovery and the future of football in Ghana.
He urged the association not to merely issue an apology but to outline the steps being taken to turn things around.
“My view is that it should not be that the Executive Committee has gone to a meeting only to make decisions. No. The FA should have a plan, and they should lay it out and tell Ghanaians that we beg you, this is where we are, it is a mess, but we are begging you to be patient with us,” he said.
“They should tell us what they have done and where they want to take the football. They shouldn’t just say we’re sorry, and that is all.”
“It is a no for me, and I don’t think Ghanaians will buy into that idea,” he added.
This marks the first time in 21 years that the Black Stars will miss out on the AFCON tournament.
Looking ahead, the Black Stars will shift focus to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will begin in March 2025 with matches against Chad and Madagascar.
