GFA charges Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom over alleged misconduct in Division One League

-

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, owner of Elmina Sharks, for alleged violations of Division One League Regulations and the GFA Disciplinary Code.

This follows an incident of violence during a league match between Elmina Sharks and Swedru All Blacks at the Nduom Sports Stadium on Sunday, where the referee was attacked in Zone Two.

Dr. Nduom is accused of entering the inner perimeter and field of play without permission to protest a penalty decision, disrupting the match.

The GFA also claims he incited Elmina Sharks players, officials, and fans to confront the match officials.

Furthermore, the GFA alleges that Dr. Nduom used social media to escalate the situation, encouraging fans and club officials to take action against the referees.

These actions, the GFA says, led to violence against the match officials, an offense considered misconduct that brings the game into disrepute.

Dr. Nduom has been given until Wednesday, February 19, 2025, to respond to the charges as the GFA takes steps to enforce discipline and ensure fairness within the league.
