The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced Sunday, August 25, 2019 as a general school reopening day for Senior High School (SHS) 3 students.
In a statement signed by the Director General of GES, Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, the GES said the date was arrived at during a stakeholders meeting between management of GES, the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools, Association of Principals of Training Institutes and Labour union of the Pre-tertiary Education Sector.

“It has been concluded that the reopening day for SHS 3 students be shifted from August 19, 2019 to Sunday, August 25, 2019 to enable parents and students, teachers and education workers prepare adequately for the reopening of the new academic year.
“Form 3’s are to report on Sunday, August 25, 2019 for the first term of the 2019/2020 academic year for academic work to begin on Monday, August 26, 2019.”
