In his quest to become the next national youth organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the immediate past Akuapem Municipal Chief Executive, George Opare Addo has met Ex-President Mahama to formally announce his bid.
The meeting which took place in the office of the former president was aimed at seeking his blessings and also discuss the role of the youth wing of the party in capturing power from the ruling party, NPP.

George Opare Addo, who was once the youngest MCE in the country, having first been nominated by late president John Atta Mills was among the few MMDCE’s president Mahama kept faith with when he won the 2012 election.
After meeting the former president, George Opare Addo has become certain that the NDC could win power if the youth wing is involved and resourced well for the job.

“As I have said previously, the youth are a critical unit of every political party and we must do all that is possible and right to empower them. I have committed myself to ensuring that the youth wing of the NDC is highly motivated and resourced with the necessities to ensure we are well equipped to save our country from this insensitive, careless and inept government of the NPP”, he stated.

Even though the NDC has not opened nomination for its national election, the youth organizer position has already seen some serious competition.
George Opare Addo, a University of Ghana alumni and a business man is expected to compete for the position with one Wonder Madilo and Brogya Gyamfi, the Ashanti regional youth organizer of the NDC.
