Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu Senya West, George Andah, has been honoured for his hard work in bringing change in his constituency.

He received the United Clergy International Association (UCIA) 2019 hall of fame award for excellence in leadership.

The MP, together with the Minister for Energy, John- Peter Amewu, James Klutse Avedzi, Deputy Minority Leader and the MP for Gomoa Central, Naana Ayiah were among some politicians who were honoured by United Clergy International Association at a colourful ceremony at Winneba.

Other individuals who received recognition were the founder of Young Executive School, Nobel Francis Essel-Akyeahene and Anthony Boamah Mensah of Hope Restoration Academy, both at Kasoa.

Speaking to Citi News at the award ceremony, Executive Chairman of UCIA, Bishop Dr Kwame Aburam Anoff Snr indicated that the awardees were selected based on research done by the Association.

“For George Andah we looked at his relationship with his community and his power to do more slogans which is bringing results and the needed change in his community,” Bishop Anoff explained.

According to him, the perception that Ghana is not worth dying for is false, adding that heroes must be recognised while they are alive.

“Recently we saw someone died and about two or three weeks later we heard that the person was promoted and it doesn’t change anything or bring blessing to the family so we want to bless those we think are dedicated enough in terms of working for the nation and helping build their areas of services,” the Executive chairman said.
