Members of the Garment and Leather Employees Union (TGLEU) have descended heavily on the Minister of Education for demonstrating ‘gross ignorance’ about the textile industry.
According to them, his comments which seemingly support the smuggling of textile into the country is to blame for the collapse of the industry.
This was contained in a statement signed by General Secretary of the union, Abraham Koomson in reaction to the Education Minister’s justification of smuggling and dumping textile fabrics for school uniforms in the country.
