GAF vows to uphold peace and security during December elections

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has pledged to uphold professionalism to ensure peace and stability in the upcoming December elections.

Chief of Defense Staff, Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, in a meeting with the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu expressed GAF’s commitment to protecting the nation’s democratic processes.

He stated that, the Armed Forces with support from other security agencies, will secure Ghana’s borders against any external threats.

This joint effort aims to prevent disruptions and maintain national security during the election period.

The Lieutenant General also stressed that these efforts will continue before, during, and after the polls to ensure a secure environment for all citizens.

“We want to assure our father and everyone that together, we will continue to maintain the peace and security of this country and we will continue to perform our duties as the Ghana Armed Forces to ensure that this country’s safety, stability, and peace are all well maintained and we will need his prayers in this direction.

“As we prepare for this year’s elections, we want to assure everyone in Ghana that we will play our role professionally to ensure that peace and security are maintained,” he said.
