The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has dismissed allegations in a viral audio recording on social media.
The audio according to GAF claims that a civilian pick-up truck was allowed into the Magazine at the 5th Battalion of Infantry to transport boxes of ammunition to an unknown destination.
However, GAF has clarified that the vehicle was delivering a newly acquired live cow, which was being quarantined before relocation to the kraal adjacent to the Magazine.
In a statement, the Department of Public Relations assured the public that the claims were entirely false and should be disregarded.
GAF has further urged individuals and groups to verify information about security services before spreading falsehoods that can mislead the public.
The statement stressed that such actions create unnecessary tension, fear, and panic, particularly during this period.
