In a demonstration that leadership is rooted in compassion, unity, and service, His Excellency Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko Atokple, the Volta Regional Representative on Ghana’s Council of State, hosted an inspiring Easter Get-Together under the banner of the Tanko Foundation.

Bringing together dignitaries, political leaders across party lines, friends, family, and community members, the event was a clear testament to the principle that true development requires unity beyond political affiliations.

Among the high-profile attendees were the Council of State Member for the Western-North Region, the Volta Regional Minister, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), Assembly Members, and other notable figures. Their participation emphasized a shared belief that building strong, inclusive communities must remain above partisan interests.

“We must always remember that our progress as a region and as a nation depends on our ability to work together, show compassion, and support one another,” H.E. Tanko Atokple stated passionately during his address.

Leading with Heart: Philanthropy at the Center

One of the most emotional moments of the evening unfolded when two paralyzed girls — adopted by H.E. Tanko Atokple — received substantial donations from H.E. Michael Aidoo and Agbeko Kumordzie. They donated GHC 20,000 and $1,000 respectively, offering a beacon of hope and tangible support to the young women who have lived with paralysis for over two decades due to medical negligence.

“These acts of kindness are the pillars on which great communities are built,” His Excellency Tanko Atokple noted. “It is our duty as leaders to lift up the vulnerable among us.”

Honoring Commitment to Youth Empowerment

Adding another dimension to the evening’s celebrations, the Keta Nursing and Midwifery Training College-TEIN honored H.E. Tanko Atokple with a citation recognizing his unwavering support for youth activism and educational initiatives. The citation praised his contribution to promoting the Reset Agenda of the President and empowering students to become proactive citizens.

Receiving the award, he shared, “Investing in young people is investing in the future of our country. I am deeply touched by this recognition and reaffirm my commitment to supporting our youth.”

A Celebration of Talent and Culture

The Easter gathering culminated with stellar musical performances from some of Ghana’s biggest names, including Stonebwoy, Kwabena Kwabena, Sista Afia, Blakk Rasta, Camidoh, Agbeshie, Keeny Ice, and emerging talents from the Volta Region. The vibrant concert transformed the evening into a festival of cultural pride, entertainment, and regional solidarity.

A Vision for Leadership Beyond Titles

Through heartfelt philanthropy, youth engagement, and cultural promotion, His Excellency Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko Atokple showcased a vision of leadership that transcends titles — one deeply rooted in service to humanity.

“This Easter gathering has reminded us that leadership is not about position or power,” he concluded. “It is about how we touch lives, unite people, and inspire change.”

With initiatives like the Tanko Foundation’s Easter Get-Together, H.E. Tanko Atokple continues to redefine leadership in Ghana — one act of compassion, one show of unity, and one life transformed at a time.
