Gabby’s comments on Ghanaian movies borne out of ‘ignorance’ – Fred Nuamah jabs

-

Founder of Ghana Movie Awards (GMA) Fred Nuamah has rubbished Mr. Gabby Asare Otchere Darko’s loose comment that discredited Ghanaian movies saying it shows he has not come to know there are best films produced in the country.

Mr. Gabby Ochere Darko in the past week said he watched 10 Ghanaian movies saying he was disappointed in the kind of films producers in the country make.

But responding to Gabby’s criticism; Fred Nuamah indicated Mr. Otchere Darko didn’t get better movies to watch that’s why he made such comment.

“There are Ghanaian movies like “Beast of No Nation”, the “Cursed One”, Amakye and Dede and “Freedom” which are all of a high standard. When we give these movies to Gabby to watch he will appreciate them, but I don’t blame him either. Nobody can tell me Ghanaian movies are not of good standard they are very good but there is always room for improvement. I won’t blame Gabby too much because he watched what he laid his hands on”. He added.

Mr. Nuamah further explained that the standard of Ghanaian movies is ok and not as bad as Gabby described.
