Former Vice-President, Mr Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has criticized the NPP government’s handling of the economy so far.
According to him, the NPP government could have done much better in one year and that Ghanaians are hoping that they (NPP) puts in much effort to resolve problems confronting the country in the coming years .
The former Vice president was speaking to the media on Christmas Day at Ho in the Volta Region after making some donations to children on admission at the Ho Regional and Municipal Hospitals with his wife, Matilda Amissah –Arthur.
Mr Amissah Arthur said most of programmes being implemented by the NPP government “are without the full conceptualization of the appreciation of the cost involved.”
He explained that some of the projects should have been “costed, agreed and implemented from day one” instead of modeling our way through without any concrete plan .
Mr Amissah -Arthur cited the free SHS example, saying the current challenges would have been avoided if proper planning had been done . He added that, he “could chip in and help” if he had his own way.
He said more consultations with people who have expertise and more definition of exactly what it is that they want to do.
The former Vice president also called for some clarity on the things they want to achieve since it (Free SHS) is being done haphazardly.
He further stated that every parent wants to provide the best education for their children. “It’s a very important subject for parents who are a bit confused” he stated.
The couple was accompanied by the NDC MP for the Area Benjamin Kpodo. They visited the various wards to interact with the patients on admission and wished them well.
They presented boxes of fruit juice, biscuits and bags of rice to the children and staff of the hospital.
