President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has officially lodged a complaint at the Accra Regional Police Headquarters following threats on his life after leading his outfit to condemn government on a $178m KelniGVG deal signed between the Government of Ghana and Haitian firm KelniGVG.
A highly placed source from the Ministry of Interior cautioned him about the danger about to befall him if he continues to fuel debates on the $89 million deal between the government and the ICT firm.
Having earlier indicated that the deal with Kelni GVG was a hefty $178m and not the speculated $89m by government, Mr. Cudjoe further posited that it was a needless one which was essentially a rip-off.

Kelni GVG, a Haitian originated company, was awarded a contract by the government for design, development and implementation of a common platform for traffic monitoring, revenue assurance, and mobile money monitoring and fraud management, a service already being rendered by Afriwave and Subah Info Solution.
IMANI has questioned the rationale behind the new contract with Kelni GVG, describing it as wasteful and aimed at milking the public purse. According to the policy think tank group, reasons espoused by government officials to back the deal lack financial sense except that it was premised on political thinking.
At Joy News’ analysis programme Newsfile, Saturday however, Deputy Communications Minister George Andah stated that the campaign being waged by policy think tank IMANI on the controversial KelniGVG contract is premised on misinformation or better still he is convinced IMANI is doing the bidding of its paymasters who see the contract as a threat to them.

Posting on his Facebook wall, Franklin Cudjoe hinted that he had reported the development to the Police.
“Source says to take the threat against my person seriously as words like ” let us silence him” had been used among the mixture of security operatives. So, I came to the Police. We will see from tomorrow” he wrote.
