Public Relations Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has confirmed that the club’s Scottish trainer will arrive in Ghana on Thursday, 4th January ahead of the G8 tournament which commences two days after.
Coach Frank Nuttall returned to his country the night after guiding his side to lift the 2017 President’s cup at the expense of their arch rivals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on December 24.
Hearts of Oak went into that game with a 3-1 advantage from the first leg played in Accra on May 1 and drew goalless with Asante Kotoko in the second leg.
Speaking on the ultimate sports show, the club’s spokesman explained that Nuttall returned to his home land to observe the festive season but will be back in time to lead the team to cape coast for the preseason tournament.
“We already have a plan in place to resume training on 3rd January with our coach joining the next day. We thought it necessary to observe this break so they all regroup refreshed. So we are positive he will return in time for the tournament”, Opare stressed.
Frank Nuttall guided Hearts of oak to finish third in the 2016/2017 Premier League season to gain participation in the upcoming G8 tournament. The Phobians are in Group B together with Dwarfs, Medeama and new entrants, Karela fc.
