Former MP joins NPP General Secretary race

-

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Obuasi East, Edward Enin, has joined the race to vie for the General Secretary position of his party.
According to him, his decision is borne out of the desire to make the NPP marketable and vibrant ahead of the 2020 general elections.

Mr. Enin becomes the third person to challenge the current acting General Secretary, John Boadu for the post.
The others are former Minister of Trade and Industry under the John Agyekum Kufuor administration, Joe Baidoe-Ansah and Richard Ahiagbah, who is currently the Director of Communication for the NPP in Chicago, USA.
Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Monday, Edward Enin said his decision to contest the position is to provide effective leadership for the NPP to enable the party easily win the 2020 general elections.

He cited how the party’s electoral fortune is dwindling, especially in the Ashanti region due to what he described as inaction of the current executives.
“I come from the Ashanti region and grounds are not good. I want to bring some vibrancy in the party that is why I’m contesting the General Secretary position”, he added.
The former Obuasi East MP said he as an underdog will pull the biggest surprise in NPP history in the upcoming delegates elections.
“It is true I did not come out early but I have done all the grounds work and I’m certain of a landslide victory in the elections” Edward Enin opined.
